The African National Congress (ANC) has received with shock and sadness the news of the passing of His Majesty King Goodwill Zwelithini ka Bhekuzulu, King of the Zulu Nation. 

The ANC applauds the progressive role the King played in the development of his nation and for upholding the culture and traditions of Zulu Nation people. 

The ANC sends its heartfelt condolences to the royal family, the Zulu Nation and the people of South Africa as a whole. We hope they will find solace in the knowledge that their loss is the nation’s loss. We wish them strength and fortitude in their hour of grief and pain.
